Daman Harun came to the United States in 1993 after being accepted into the American Degree Program from Malaysia. In 1995 he received his bachelor's of science degree in computer engineering from CWRU.
Daman's dance background began with his training in Malay traditional dance and has extended into a pursuit of modern dance. He has performed in many dance seasons at the Mather Dance Center in Cleveland, as well as directed the Malaysian Nights, held at CWRU in 1994 and served as the artistic director for the Malaysian Student Association in 1994. He also has performed in several contemporary dance works created by area choreographers including Susan Van Pelt, Kathryn Karipides, Frankie Hart and Sarah Morrison.
Daman resides in Cleveland and works as a computer consultant for Gulf Coast Industries, Mississippi and periodically designs web pages for Leonardo's Arts & Sciences Book Gallery in Cleveland. He will continue his studies in modern dance through the fine arts master's degree program at CWRU this fall.
