MORRISONDANCE was founded and is directed by choreographer, Sarah Morrison. From 1997 until 2002 the group was maintained on a grassroots level that allowed work with some of the most fascinating artists in the area in order to create innovative performances involving technology, nature, and unusual spaces. Works were created on a project by project basis, with every performance providing a different combination of talented artists. This ever-changing mixture hasallowed Morrison to choreograph fresh works, and to incorporate the varying backgrounds of creative dancers, musicians, and artists. Morrison's method of choreography relies upon the collaborative energy of those she has worked with.

May 17, 2002 - NEW COMPANY, NEW MISSION

The company of MorrisonDance has evolved artistically out of grassroots efforts, and we feel that the step to incorporate as a company of dedicated board members and participating artists allows us to begin with a fresh perspective, creating room for endless growth and a limitless potential for spreading the inspiration and joy of dance to a larger community through innovative performance and education.
