"Mi Larthia" (1996)
Choreography by Sarah Morrison
Performed by Sarah Morrison
Music: Philip Glass with Text read from D.H. Lawrences, Etruscan Places by Sarah Morrison
Through the generous support of the Eva L. Pancoast Fellowship from Case Western Reserve University and Pro Danza/Italia, this piece was created as a result of Sarah's living experience on the
Etruscan Riviera in Italy. During her two month stay, she
researched and visited many ancient Etruscan cities. "Mi
Larthia" are the first written Etruscan words, found on a
sarcophogus. Here, Sarah Morrison perform's Mi Larthia on
an authentic sarcophogus at the Villa Graziani in Vada, Italy.
